School Activities

The present Academic year commenced with a bang and a string of activties were planned to keep the students engaged. Principal Ms Arti Sharma and Vice Principal Ms Rupan Jaiswal emphasised the need for activity based learning, so keeping this in mind there were a plethora of interesting activites planned for our students.

Earth Day: The school celebrated Earth Day on 4th April with a lot of enthusiasm. Children made collages highlighting the importance of conserving our natural resources. Catchy slogans on saving Mother Earth were coined to spread the message of protecting nature and environment.
Community Lunch: Community Lunch was organised in which children brought homemade food of their respective states and shared the same with their friends. This was an important ice breaker at the start of the Academic session. Everyone had a great time savouring the delicacies and bonding with their classmates over food and chatter.

Best Out of Waste: Children were edcucated on the reuse of waste material. They indulged in innovative ways of making new useful items reinforcing the idea of recycling and reutilising material to save environment.

Hindi & English Recitation: Children participated in Hindi and English recitation competition in July and August. There were many good performances. All the participants performed with a lot of confidence and poise.
Interhouse Patriotic Song competition: The month of August saw the patriotic fervour to the fullest with students of all Houses singing patriotic songs with lot of verve and enthusiasm.

Fancy Dress:The tiny tots of Classes I and II regaled the entire school by turning in with wonderful and colourful fancy dresses and outfits. It was a tough task selecting as everyone put in their best.The Fancy Dress competition held in August was a big hit.
Picnic: It was an enjoyable trip to the Dinosuar Park, Bumble Jumble and Funcity for the Primary sections in late August. Children freaked out to the fullest with various games, activities and rides .The picnic was a huge success with lots to learn, play and much joy and camraderie amongst all.

Hindi & English Debates : The Hindi and English debates were the highlights of the month of September. Children were well prepared and well informed and articulated their arguments with aplomb and confidence. There was tough competition with great performances and arguments by all the participants.

Ganesh Chaturti Celebrations: Children were involved in some useful activity as they welcomed the favourite diety of Pune, Lord Ganesha in September. They indulged in making Ganesha idols using natural clay earth (Shadoo Mitti). They pledged to bring only eco-friendly Lord Ganesha home.

Sports Events: Our tiny tots were involved in a variety of sports activites commencing with Cricket, Kho-Kho, Dodge ball, Football, Hurdle race. Every event was fought with intense fervour and the standard of the players was very high. The spirit of competition and sportsmanship were inculcated in full measure.

General Knowledge Quiz: Students of Primary Section tested their knowledge and general awareness in a Quiz competetion in September.It was a keenly fought battle and the standard of the students was indeed commendable.

Swachh Bharat Pakhwada: As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, the children of APS Kirkee were involved in a week long Cleanliness Drive, under the able guidance and encouragement of our Principal, Ms Arti Sharma.The Primary children cleaned their own classes with lots of enthusiasm leaving it spic and span.Children learned the right way to wash their hands by doing the Handwash Activity. They wrote impressive slogans to spread the message of cleanliness. Students of Classes IV and V performed a street play to make everyone aware about the importance of keeping the waterbodies clean.

The first part of the Academic Year went by in a flash with a host of celebrations and activities keeping the students engaged and enlightened with lots to take home in terms of experience. The competitions added spice and brought in a sense of team spirit, enthusiasm and will to perform and excel .
